The Mechanical Tests performed at SCI, meet the regulatory criteria required by the different codes and regulations, both national and international, to determine the different physical properties of the materials.

Our force measurement system, based on advanced technology, allows to measure Tensile and Compression up to 1000 KN. With these tests it is possible to check the strength, both tensile and compressive , that the material is able to withstand.
By means of different punch diameters and support roll spacing, the bending suitability of materials and welded joints is determined.
At SCI we perform tests to determine the hardness of a material. And we do so with three of the methods used: Rockwell, Brinell and Vickers.
The Charpy test measures the tenacity and energy absorption capacity of a given material at different temperatures, from room temperature to -196ºC. Charpy impact is performed according to ASTM E-23 and EN-ISO-148-1 standards.
At SCI we use state-of-the-art technology to perform the tests in which we can determine the mechanical and chemical properties of the materials. Some of the equipment we have are:
Equipped machining shop.
Machinery required to perform tensile, compression and bending tests.
Rockwell, Brinell and Vickers hardness testers.
Charpy pendulums.
Ovens and muffles.
